***GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED***
Patricia from ButterYum recently nominated me to complete a 7 links assignment, that has been popping up all over blogdospere. If you haven't heard of Patricia (aka ButterYum) then you are missing out. Not only doesn she post the most beautiful desserts (LOVE her cakes!), but she also shares savory recipes and little snippets of her life. The photographs on her blog are stunning and drool worthy! So drop by and say hello!
I am suppose to share 7 links to posts on my blog that best fit the criteria given, then nominate 7 additional bloggers to do the same. This should be quite interesting, since I always think other blogs are much nicer and yummier than mine, LOL. And which 7 bloggers do I choose, to pass this assignment on to. I mean, I don't want them to hate me, for bestowing this on them, LOL. So, here I go
Most Beautiful Post
I'd have to say Lemon-Blueberry Cupcakes. I just love the colors on the plate, the cupcakes looks so mouth watering and I love the shot of the birdhouse in the back ground.
Most Popular
This one was tough, since I had 3 posts that were equaly popular. So I'll pick my favorite from the 3, LOL. This Banana Split Cake is not only stunning, but guests would never know how easy it is to make.
Most Controversial Post
I'd have to say Roast Beef with Horseradish Gravy. Only because someone left a message telling me that it must taste horrible since I overcooked the roast and ruined it. I recovered nicely and replied with decorum (which is far from what I wanted to say...)
Most Helpful Post
I'd have to say Pie in a Jar. I got to share a really beautiful and easy technique with my readers and have inspired many to make them as gifts.
Post Whos Success Most Suprised You
This one would be the Baked Honey Mustard Chicken. It's a super simple and delicious way to cook chicken, but I didn't think chicken legs would be so popular.
Post You Feel Didn't Get the Attention It Deserved
These awesome and insane Peanut Butter and Fudge Brownies. Just over the top YUM!
Post You Are Most Pround Of
Skeleton Cupcakes, for sure! When I set out to make these, I was certain they would be a total failure. But they are actually pretty darn cute. Plus the kids LOVE LOVE LOVED them!
Now for the 7 awesome bloggers I'd like to pass this assignment on to
Debie from Debbie Does Dinner... Healthy and Low Calorie
Wendy from Around my Family Table
Miz Helen from Miz Helen's Country Cottage
Christy from Fudge Ripple
Kim from My Mediterranean Diet
Jeanine from The Baking Beauties
Katie from This Chick Cooks

Cindy, my husband is Portuguese, born in the Azores, and I love surprising him with Portuguese dishes every once in a while. I can't make them as good as his Mom, but I try, lol!
Ack, now I have to put my thinking cap on. :) Thank you for the mention, Cindy!
How I introduce culture? Hmmm... Well, we eat some Mennonite meals (keilke & vereniki), and we love eating Mexican inspired dishes. Which reminds me... my tomatoes will be ripe in a day or two...bring on the salsa! :)
I've gotten a couple of these! I'll have to get on this soon! Thanks for thinking of me!
Those skeleton cupcakes are incredibly creepy but cute!
alright! Got my homework done, thanks, cindy! :)
Not entering the giveaway so don't count me in!
Just wanted to say this 7 links thing was fun. Interesting to see which posts you put in which category.
P.S. I remember the controversial post. You were way more tactful than I would have been!

Culture? I have to admit I don't think of my cooking as having culture, although we may have a meal of peroghy and cabbage rolls, or tacos with salsa, stir fry or fried chicken, or my favorite Shrimp Biriani (did I even spell that right?) Then there is the greek salad, bruschetta and of course Pecan pie!!
**smile** love your 7 links! Those skeleton cupcakes are way too cute for words. I need to make the pies in a jar too. Wonderful recap. Thanks for accepting my invitation!
:)
ButterYum
PS - how rude that someone would leave such a comment on your roast beef post. You handled it graciously.
I don't really infuse any culture into my meals. On occasion we may have tacos which I guess could be considered a Mexican infusion of culture! I should try and be a little more adventurous in my meal making!

Hi Cindy
I loved the skeleton cupcakes, you're imagination is unbelievable!
As for the over cooked roast(if it was), that would be the only way my dad would eat his meat!
I introduce culture when I prepare home made products while getting my children involved. ie: we just canned tomatoes for the season which everyone pitches in to help.(When we are making them I also explain how they were made without modern day gadgets, like machines to grind the tomatoes) When it comes time to use those tomatoes in my foods, then I teach them how to make "our Italian" foods like homemade tomato sauce. I also teach my kids how to make homemade pasta which of course would use the sauce that we made. I also encourage them to call their grandmothers or aunts and ask them how they make a particular item that they are fond of. I also like to mention pilgrims way of cooking often as it is part of our Canadian culture as well. Particularly harvesting, recycling and not leaving such a large footprint on our planet by reducing waste by composting.
Of course they are bored by most of it but, it's wonderful when I hear them explaining things that I've taught them to their friends!
Kudos Marisa
Hi Brenda How are you!!!
We don't really have any culture in our meals. We have perogies and cabbage rolls.

I try to prepare different types of dishes when i can.
billiondollarprincesss@hotmail.com
I try to introduce culture with a variety of spices and sauces. SAdly the kids really are not into it. So my culture is usually when I dine a lone or eat out
I like to prepare Mennonnite foods..but every now and then I like to cook up a stir fry or Mexican. Great 7 links...your recipes and pictures look great.
susz51(at)hotmail(dot)com
Both sets of kids grandparents are different cultures and they chef for us every now and then!
angelalising@hotmail.com
I look for recipes from other cultures and make them for my family. I try to keep with the theme by making everything we have the night all from the same culture. We have found some great recipes that we make over and over again that way
bluebelle0367(at)hotmail(dot)com
I visit the local asian market to find interesting fruits and veggies for my family to try.
dftrew(at)gmail(dot)com
I try and use a new recipe from a different culture once every week or two. I google them and try them out. Otherwise.. we would eat kd all the time lol
